My experience at Godalming College has been absolutely amazing and the time I have spent here has allowed me to create bonds with people that I never would have met otherwise.
The training I have received through the Drama A Level and the Performing Arts BTEC Diploma has been incredible. The knowledge and confidence gained from studying these subjects has meant I have developed myself as an individual and as a creative, and the courses have allowed me to become the best version of myself. I have developed my vocal work and completely enhanced my physicality from ‘showy’ to more authentic.
ClassAction, the College’s performance company, allows you to step into the world of theatre, working alongside other like-minded and talented individuals who constantly inspire you in a fun environment. The department offers opportunities to explore behind-the-scenes work as well as stage work; one highlight was playing the role of Billy Flynn in ‘Chicago’ when I had never truly sung in front of others before.
These courses have opened the doors for me to pursue acting as a career, my love for theatre has grown and allowed me to take the next step into the industry. With fantastic support from my teachers, I have been awarded a place at Leeds Conservatoire. I am extremely grateful that, with the help of Godalming College, in future I will be able to do what I love– perform.
